asdfghjkl tony unconsciously treating harley the same way howard used to treat tony when he was a child, but then mentally kicking himself when he realises he’s being just like his own father and immediately switches from “don’t touch the suit!! now look what you did!! you broke it!!!” to “its okay. don’t worry about it. i can fix it. no big deal” like,,, this scene is a direct parallel to the scene from im2 where tony is watching the old outtake reels of his father where howard berates and yells at a 3-year old tony for touching his city model scale. even though howard wasn’t even mentioned in iron man 3, you still get hints of the way his A+++ parenting effected tony.
If Asgardians speak English but originate from Scandinavian folklore, then by all rights shouldn’t Thor, Loki, and company sound like they’re from Minnesota?
Oh, ya, m'name’s Loki, and I am burdened with glorious purpose, doncha know.
This would get me to watch all the Thor movies.
Thor: Aww geeze, I’m gonna need ya to hand over that tesseract there ya? Loki: Oh, good ta see ya, too, brother, thanks for askin’ how I was and all there. Thor: Cheese and crackers, does it seem like I’m in the mood for your games there now then yet?
This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell.
That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor.
Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive.
not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend
REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form.
friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon
Will reblog every time I see it.
what’s disgusting to me about the professor pushing for that is -they’re probably getting most of the profit since it’s their book -since it’s digital they can probably make some minuscule change or grammar edit every year, re-upload it, and push for people to use it. -digital copies can’t be returned to the college bookstore to get some money back/give the next year students a cheaper cost -there is literally no production cost since it’s digital it’s all copyright and willy nilly fees at that point. why the fuck is it $200 they’re already paying to attend your course why do they need to pay you even more for your book you greedy shitstain of a professor.
I am of the mind that college and education, in the US at least, is a business first before anything else, and it’s disgusting.
‘What news from the North, O mighty wind, do you bring to me today? What news of Boromir the bold? For he is long away.’ ‘Beneath Amon Hen I heard his cry. There many foes he fought, His cloven shield, his broken sword, they to the water brought. His head so proud, his face so fair, his limbs they laid to rest, And Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, bore him upon its breast. ‘O Boromir! The Tower of Guard shall ever northward gaze, To Rauros, golden Rauros-falls, until the end of days.’
